General Information
The Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the KCGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.  The KCGA Rules and Competitions Committee, who are charged with conducting this site, shall settle all questions.  Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2010-11 Rules of Golf book.  Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is 2 Strokes.

Withdraw
A player is required to immediately notify the KCGA if they need to withdraw from a competition via the KCGA Online Tournament Registration System. If internet access is not available then withdraw via phone. Failure to notify the KCGA may result in disciplinary actions, which may include a suspension from future KCGA competitions.

Carts
Carts are provided in the entry fee, although players are not required to use them. There is a maximum of two carts per group.

Caddies
Caddies are not allowed.

Practice Range
The practice range opens one hour before the first starting time weather permitting. Range balls will be available at the practice range and are complimentary for contestants only prior to their round, unless otherwise noted. There is no official practice round for this event.

Pace of Play Policy
The KCGA uses the Check-Point System for Pace of Play.  The Check-Point System is based upon the requirement of all groups being in position at each check-point.  Players in a group out of position at a check-point are liable to the applicable penalty if the Committee determines the group or any player in the group was in breach of the pace of play guidelines.  Please review the Pace of Play Guidelines and Procedures before starting.

Code of Conduct
Rule 33-7 authorizes the Committee to disqualify a player for a serious breach of etiquette. A player commits a serious breach of etiquette when he or she shows a significant disregard for an aspect of the Etiquette Section of the Rules of Golf. Whether a player has committed a serious breach of etiquette, and the penalty, if any, for the player’s conduct, is at the discretion of the Committee.

In any event managed by the KCGA, a serious breach of etiquette includes but is not limited too acts such as throwing clubs, obscenity that is audible to others on the course (including one’s opponents or follow competitors), and any verbal abuse of an official or staff member.

Ordinarily, a player will be given a warning on his or her first offense, although in extreme cases (such as any verbal abuse of an official), the first offense may result in disqualification. Furthermore, a player who is disqualified may be suspended or barred altogether from future participation in KCGA events, at the discretion of the KCGA Rules and Competition Committee.

Inclement Weather Information
The KCGA reserves the right to cancel an event due to inclement weather or other incidents. If the event is cancelled, the KCGA will make every attempt to reschedule and entry fees will be credited toward the rescheduled event.

To check status of event visit KCGA Website Home Page or call the KCGA Weather Hotline at (913) 375-0097.

Close of Competition
The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the trophy has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee. The result of a match is considered to have been “officially announced” when the Committee has approved the result as posted on the public scoreboard.

YOUR EXPRESSIONS OF THANKS TO THE STAFF OF THE HOST CLUB AND KCGA TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED.
