Player Standings

The KC Amateur Points System is based upon 6 key fundamentals:

To receive points a player must annually (a) participate in at least one (1) KCGA Regional Championship; (b) participate in at least three (3) additional KCGA managed competitions (such as USGA Qualifiers or StateLine Amateur events); (c) and have an active USGA Handicap Index at a Kansas City Golf Association member club.

Point competitions are ranked, and given a total point value. Competitions are ranked in the following order;

  1. U.S. Open Championship
  2. U.S. Senior Open Championship
  3. U.S. Amateur Championship
  4. USGA Amateur Championships (not listed above)
  5. Kansas City Amateur – AND – The Watson Challenge
  6. Kansas City Masters – AND – Heart of America Four-Ball
  7. Kansas and Missouri Amateurs
  8. Kansas City Match Play Championship
  9. StateLine Amateur Tour Championship
  10. StateLine Amateur Tour regular season events
  11. USGA Qualifiers

Bushnell Player Standings

The Bushnell Player Standings determine eligibility for the KC Masters and The Watson Challenge. The Bushnell Player Standings rank the top amateur golfers who are members of the Kansas City Golf Association on the basis of their performance on a rolling cycle. Points are calculated using the KC Amateur Points System and includes points for events during the current 52 week period.

Amateur of the Year Standings

The Player of the Year Standings identify the amateur who had the best season in KCGA managed and select non- managed competitions. The rankings are established using the KC Amateur Points System for events of only the current season.

Senior Amateur of the Year Standings

The Senior POY Standings identify the senior who had the best season in KCGA managed and select non-managed competitions. The rankings are established using the KC Amateur Points System for events of only the current season.

Junior Amateur Standings

The Junior Amateur Standings are based off of StateLine Junior Tour events and other selected local and national junior events. The purpose of the Standings is to award junior amateurs points for their participation in local and national events, resulting in a standing for determining the Junior Amateur Player of the Year. The rankings are established using the KC Amateur Points System for events of only the current season. Points from KCJT events do not equate in the Junior Amateur Standings.

KC Junior TourĀ Standings

Each division and flight have separate season-long standings, based on points earned at each event. The purpose of the KC Junior Tour Standings is to award members points for their participation in KC Junior Tour events, therefore, resulting in a standing based solely on those points to determine eligibility for the KC Junior Tour Championship.

StateLine Amateur Tour Standings

The StateLine Amateur Tour Standings determine eligiblity for the StateLine Amateur Tour Championship and the SLAT Achievement Award (#1 player in points standings per Division and Scoring Flight). The Standings are based solely on a players performance at StateLine Amateur Tour events.
