The StateLine Amateur Tour is a great opportunity for amateurs in the Kansas City regional golf community to compete on some of the best courses in the region, in an atmosphere similar to inside the ropes at big time tour events and national amateur championships. Field and Format
Each regular season event is limited to 105 players and consists of 18 holes of stroke play.
Tour Membership & Fees
The Tour is open to amateur golfers who are at least 18 years old and have an active Handicap Index of 18.2 or less at a KCGA member facility/club. Membership for all is $50. Tour members receive several benefits, which include annual tour branded member gifts and possible discounted practice round fees at Tour venues. Individual events have an entry fee of $75, which includes green fees, golf cart, and practice range and prize pool.

I should play in the SENIOR DIVISION if…
I will be 50 years or older by October 1, 2012

I should play in the LEGENDS DIVISION if…
I will be 60 years or older by October 1, 2012

Entry Procedure
Players must first register as a member and then can enter as many of the 10 regular season events as they choose. Each events entry fee covers course, cart, and practice range fees as well as the prize pool. Entries must be submitted to the KCGA office, no later than the deadline at 2:00PM. Default entry deadline is one week before event (subject to change).
Handicap Index
A Handicap Index is issued by your golf club and represents your potential scoring ability. When issued you are given a GHIN number which is your distinct account number for your Handicap Index. An active Handicap Index from a KCGA member facility/club is required for all juniors in order to apply for the StateLine Amateur Tour. If you do not have an active Handicap Index and are a member of a private country club please contact your golf professional to activate. Withdrawal & Refund Policy
Players are required to immediately notify the KCGA if they need to withdrawal from a competition via the KCGA Online Tournament Registration System. If Internet access is not available, a player should withdrawal via phone. Failure to notify the KCGA may result in disciplinary actions, which could include a suspension from future KCGA competitions. A proper withdraw is required for a refund to be granted. There are no refunds for memberships.

Starting Times/Order of Play
Starting times are posted on the KCGA website the day following the deadline. All play begins from the #1 tee. Players are expected to arrive at the first tee at least five (5) minutes before their starting time. A player arriving after their published starting time but within five minutes shall be penalized two strokes on the first hole. Arrival beyond five minutes of the starting time results in disqualification.

No-Shows & No-Cards
A player who does not participate in an event they are registered for and does not properly withdraw from the event is considered a no-show. A player who fails to return their scorecard following their round shall be disqualified and is considered a no-card.
- A player who no-shows or no-cards shall have three (3) points deducted from their StateLine Amateur Tour Player Standing.
- If a player no-shows and/or no-cards twice in a season the are not eligible for the Tour Championship.
Walk-ups
The StateLine Amateur Tour allows walk-up entries for regular season events. Walk-ups are not guaranteed a spot in the field. Walk-ups only replace positions in the field for individuals who no-show/withdraw for a scheduled tee time. Walk-up registration begins 15 minutes before the first starting time. Walk-ups must register at the first tee by signing the walk-up registration form. Walk-ups placed in the field are required to make payment before starting by check or exact cash (credit cards are not accepted on site).
If a walk-up position is available, the KCGA will make an announcement and the walk-up must be present at the first tee in a reasonable amount of time or the next eligible walk-up present shall be called. The KCGA is not responsible for finding walk-ups.
Walk-ups will be allowed under the following guidelines.
- Open Division players shall only replace players who no-show/withdraw in the Open Division.
- Players or Senior Division players shall only replace players who no-show/withdraw in the Players or Senior Divisions.
- Legends Division players shall only replace players who no-show/withdraw in the Legends Division.
Mid-Season Change of Division
A Tour member may change divisions during the season, but only once. Example- Players into Senior. Points gained from previous events, other than participation points, do not transfer into the new division’s player ranking. In order to qualify for the Tour Championship, a player must participate in at least three (3) events within their respective division.
Carts & Caddies
Carts includes as part of the entry fee, but players are not required to use them. There is a maximum of two carts per group. Caddies are not allowed. A spectator may ride in a cart if a seat is available, but they can not perform any duties that under the Rules of Golf would deem them to be a caddie, ie drive the cart, carry clubs, attend a flagstick.
Personal Appearance
Proper golf attire is required on the course and in public rooms. Each facility’s dress code will be enforced, but the following regulations are always in effect.
- Tank tops, denim jeans or shorts, cutoffs, t-shirts, ripple-soles, and metal spikes are prohibited.
- Golf shirts, usually with a traditional or mock collar, are required.
- Mid-thigh length shorts are acceptable.
Code of Conduct
Rule 33-7 authorizes the Committee to disqualify a player for a serious breach of etiquette. A player commits a serious breach of etiquette when he shows a significant disregard for an aspect of the Etiquette Section of the Rules of Golf, such as intentionally distracting another player or intentionally offending someone.
In any event managed by the KCGA, a serious breach of etiquette includes but is not limited to acts such as throwing clubs, obscenity that is audible to others on the course (including one’s opponents or follow competitors), and any verbal abuse of an official.
Typically, a player will be given a warning for the first offense, although in extreme cases (such as any verbal abuse of an official), even the first offense may result in disqualification. Furthermore, a player who is disqualified may be suspended or barred altogether from future participation in KCGA events, at the discretion of the KCGA Rules and Competition Committee.
Player Standings
Points are earned at all events. Six flights (four gross, two net) have separate season-long rankings, based on points earned at each event. StateLine Amateur Tour Player Standings points are doubled for the Tour Championship. Click here to view the StateLine Amateur Player Standings.
Prize Certificates
Prize certificates are awarded to several places in each flight. The number of places is based on the total number of entries. Prize certificates may be redeemed at any KCGA member club or Elite Golf & Fitness until December 31, 2012.
Tour Championship
Based on points earned during the regular season, 72 players and ties will be invited to the Tour Championship. The following criteria will be used in determining invitations for the Tour Championship.
- Each division is guaranteed 12 positions in the field.
- The Remaining 24 positions shall be allocated based upon a division’s percentage of membership.
- The number of invitations for each division will be posted online once determined.
- Divisions with gross/net (Players, Legends), half of the qualifiers shall be determined from the gross points list and the other half shall be determined from the net points list. If there are an odd number of positions, the gross points list takes precedence.
- If a player qualifies for both gross and net, additional players shall be added.
- When adding an additional player, the player is determined by alternating from the gross then net points list.
- A player must have participated in a minimum of three events or have won an event to be eligible.
- If a player declines an invitation, the next player and ties on the standings shall be invited.
