Munholland, Genton, Clark, and Sampsell Win Honors at Dub's Dread Golf Club

In the last regular season Player's Division event, Tucker Clark was low for the afternoon firing a round of 78, taking home medalist honors.  In the older division, Graham Sampsell took first with his round of 85.  In the girls division, 13-15 age group,  Ashton Munholland won again with a score of 84.  In the 16-18 age division, Kristina Genton took home the honors firing a round of 90.  ...more plus results

Sallaz and Jenson Win Prep Division at Dub's Dread Golf Club

The Prep Division had their last event of the regular season today out at Dub’s Dread Golf Club and John Sallaz and Brittani Jenson took home medalist honors.  Sallaz came in shooting a nine hole total of 39, making this his second consecutive win, just edging out Marc McClain shooting a 40 and Zach Spencer firing a 44.  Jenson shot a 52, taking first place over Jean Tyrrell firing a 55 and Amanda Malecki who shot a 57.  …more plus results

Boat Fires 1 Under to Take Honors at Dub's Dread

Ian Boat fired a one under par 71 to win the last regular season KC Junior Tour event out at Dub’s Dread Golf Club.  Ryan Zech took home another win firing a round of 73.  Other winners for the day include Katie Morel, firing a score of 80, Allison Forristal firing a 78, and Celeste Gassman also firing a 78.   ...more plus results

Munholland, Filardo, Johnson, and Graham Win at Royal Meadows

Tucker Johnson shot the low round of the day firing a 79, winning the 13-15 age division.  Nathan Graham took home medalist honors in the 16-18 division shooting a round of 82.  In the girl's division Anna Filardo shot an 85 to win her age group, while Ashton Munholland fired a 79 to win her division making this her second consecutive win.  She also had her first hole-in-one today.  Congratulations to Ashton! ...more plus results

Kuehn Winner at Falcon Lakes

Don Kuehn of Kansas City shot the low score of the day to win the StateLine Amateur Tour event at Falcon Lakes Golf Course.  Kuehn used four birdies in route to his 4-under par 68 performance.  Other event winners include; Sam Klos, Steve Hammond, Jim Lodes and Ron Brewer.   ...more plus results

Cross, Osbourn, Zech, and Lewis Take Medalist Honors at Alvamar Golf Club

The Champions Division was, once again, in action today out at Alvamar Golf Club.  In the boy's 16-18 age group, Hunter Lewis took the top honors firing the low round of the day with a 74, just edging out his fellow competitors.  In the 14-15 boy's division, Ryan Zech also fired a round of 74 beating out his nearest competitor who was 4 strokes behind him.   In the girl's divisions, Alexa Osbourn and Morgan Cross, shooting personal tour bests, both took home their first win of the season firing rounds of 80 and 81 respectively.   ...more plus results

Forristal and Swinford Win at Falcon Ridge

Allison Forristal and Derek Swinford had the low rounds of the day for the KC Junior Tour event that took place out at Falcon Ridge Golf Course.  In the 16-18 Division, Forristal came in firing a round of 77, while Swinford fired a three over par round of 75.  Other winners in the 14-15 age division were Jackson Foth shooting a 76 and Katie Morel coming in with a round of 79.  ...more plus results

Yonke and Bachelor Claim Amateur Crowns

Standing on the 15th Kyle Yonke found himself behind in the championship for the first time. Yonke who began the round 9-under with a 4 shot lead made a triple on hole 2 and then after a double bogey on the 188 yard par 3 No. 14 Doug Albers had taken a one shot lead. In the Senior Open Division Tom Bachelor and Mark Crow tied with a 54 hole total of 217. In the play-off Bachelor hit his approach shot on the 513 yard par 5 No. 1 to within 2 feet of the hole for a birdie and victory.  Other winners included David Kirschbaum, Rictch Nigh, Don Cox and Leroy Rottinghaus.   ....complete wrap up plus scores

The Players Division swung back into action today at Excelsior Springs Golf Course.  Ashton Munholland and Jim Gallogly were low for the day firing rounds of 79 and 78 respectively.  Other winners for the day were Kristina Genton, Justin Cecchini, an Ryan Hand who all won their division shooting a round of 80.  Adam Lechner, in the Prep Division, fired a 9 hole total of 39 to edge out his fellow competitors. ...more plus results

Change in StateLine Amateur Tour Schedule

Due to the delayed opening at Ironhorse Golf Club, the StateLine Amateur Tour event on July 31st will be played at Swope Memorial Golf Course. The reason for having to make the change is the recent construction project of Ironhorse Golf Club.  The first tee time for the event will be at 7:00 am with the Senior Open playing first followed by the Open, Legends, then Players. Gilliland and Misenhelter Win at Liberty Hills

Coming back after the July 4th weekend, the Champions Division was back in action today at Liberty Hills Country Club.  Logan Gilliland took home medalist honors for the 16-18 boy’s division firing an even par round of 70.  Gianna Misenhelter fired a three over 73 making this her second straight win for the 16-18 girl’s division.  In the 14-15 girl’s division, Morgan Cross wins shooting a total of 82, while Ryan Zech fires a one over par 71 for the boy’s division. …more plus results

Leonard Takes Top Honors

For Tom Leonard of Leawood to have the low score in his pairing group today was a feat.  Leonard's 2-under par 70 was good enough to edge out playing partners Gary Noble's and Ron Eilers' 1-over par 73 for low honors in the group and the Senior Open Division field today at the StateLine Amateur Tour event at Falcon Ridge Golf Club.   Other event winners included; Jon Platz, Jay Kramer, Heath Harmon, Dale Hotop, Grant Renne, Carl Fisher, and Dan Elder.   ...more plus results

Kane Dusts Field at Sr. Open Qualifying

Jim Kane, 50 of Edmond, OK fired a 6-under par 65 to win sectional qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open Championship by four shots. Finishing second behind Kane and earning the first alternate position was Matt Seitz, 50 of Hutchinson, who shot a 2-under par 69. Gary McClure, 58 of Independence birdied the 188 yard par 3 No. 2 to win the play-off for the second alternate position over Andy Smith, 53 of Gladstone. Smith an amateur earned the honor as Low Amateur; an honor the USGA has made a celebrated tradition.  ...more plus results

Regan Wins Women's Amateur

Michelle Regan of Prairie Village shot a 36-hole total of 151 to win the Kansas City Women's Amateur.  Regan won by 2 shots over Jennifer Clark of Kansas City.....in the Players Divison, Meredith Beykirk of Overland Park continued the good play from her final nine holes of the first round ...more plus results

Yonke and Marks Qualify for U.S. Junior Amateur

Curtis Yonke of Overland Park and Ryan Marks of Warrensburg both shot a 36-hole total of 143 to qualify for the U.S. Jr. Amateur Championship...Yonke and Marks will play in the Championship July 21-26 at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, Alabama  ....more plus results

Challenge Met Watson Style

Civic leader and sports hero Tom Watson held up yet another trophy today when he won The Watson Challenge by five strokes with a 1-under par score of 215. Oddly enough, the last time Watson held up a trophy for winning a championship in his home town was 37 years ago when he won the 1971 Missouri Amateur held at none other than Milburn Golf and Country Club. “Winning this thing (pointing to the trophy) means a lot to me”, said Watson. “When I am dead and gone someday this trophy will not only have my name on it as the tournaments namesake, but also as one of its Champions.”
