Venue InformationVenue - Indian Hills Country Club Schedule of EventsMonday, August 4 RegistrationRegistration is required for all teams. Monday, August 4 - registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m. At registration, you will be asked to review a short slide presentation detailing important information about the course, rules and schedule. The registration area is in the Terrace Room, which can be access by entering the clubhouse from the tented patio or the main clubhouse entrance. Those who are not able to register on Monday should register at least 30 minutes before their first round starting time in the Golf Shop. Pre-QualifyingThere is no pre-qualifying for the Championship. Practice RoundMonday, August 4 is the official practice round. Seniors may play their practice round on either Monday, August 4 or Tuesday, August 5. Any other dates are subject to Indian Hills’ normal guest policy and fee structure. To make a practice round time please call the KCGA Offices (913) 649-5242 ext. 2 beginning July 28 during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. NOTE: KCGA staff will be out of the office on Wednesday, July 30 for the KC Junior Tour Championship. Players not making starting times by 4:00 on August 1 will have to show up at the course and be worked in by the KCGA Staff. Do not call the Indian Hills Golf Shop, they have been instructed to not take starting times. Groupings & Starting Times (click here for 1st and 2nd round times)Starting times begin at 7:30 a.m. from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees on Tuesday and Wednesday. Starting times will begin at 7:00 a.m. Thursday thru Saturday. Stating order for match play is Senior then Open, except for Thursday's matches. Practice RangeThe Practice facilities are open for players each day 1 hour before the first starting time. All practice facilities including the short games range and putting green shall close at 4:00 pm each day. Due to the limited space on the practice range, players will be required to use the practice mats on Monday, August 4. Fitness TentElite Golf & Fitness will be available at the practice range Tuesday thru Thursday to provide stretching services to the players. This service is complimentary of Elite Golf & Fitness. areas. Cash will only be accepted in the Golf Shop, Pool Snack Bar and
Halfway House. Detailed below are the food and beverage services available
during the Championship. Please utilize the club as much as possible to
show support for host facility. Outside food and beverage is not allowed
by club policy. General InformationThe Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play. This information sheet, the USGA Rules hard card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf. Local Rules of the host course do not apply. The KCGA Rules and Competitions Committee, who are charged with conducting this site, shall settle all questions. Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2008-09 Rules of Golf book. Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is: 2 Strokes in stroke play and loss of hole in match play. Pace of PlayPace of Play is a Rule of Golf and all players are expected to play without dealy. This championship uses the Check Point System. As a group you are responsible to finish each check-point within then allotted time par or within 14 minutes of the group in front of you. When you finish No. 9 and No. 18 you are required to record the official time on the scorecard that is on the time clock located at the putting green. If you finish more than the allotted time par and are more than 14 minutes behind the group in front of you, each person in the group is liable to penalty. All check-point violoations are reviewed at the scoring area after the group has concluded play. If the Committee deems the group was responsible for the check-point violation, each player in the group has a right to apply the penalty. The Committe will listen to each play and make a determination if the appeal is granted or deined. The Committees decision shall be final! To review the complete Pace of Play Guidelines and Procedures check here. Golf CartsThe use of golf carts for this competition is permissible and at the option of the team. The fee for a cart is $20 per player per day. Due to the number of available golf carts, spectator carts will not be allowed for any circumstance until Friday of the Championship and at the discreation of Indian Hills. CaddiesCaddies are permitted, but only for those teams walking. Communication DevicesThe use of telecommunication equipment is prohibited during all stipulated rounds. Distance-Measuring DevicesDistance-Measuring Devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship. Format36 Holes Stroke Play Qualifying to determine match play seeds. 32 Open Division teams and 16 Senior Division Teams qualifying for single elimination match play. Play-offIn the event of a tie for the final seed in both Divisions, the teams concerned shall compete in a hole-by-hole play-off starting immediately after the Committee has verified results and announced the play-off at the scoreboard. WithdrawalsA player is required to immediately notify the KCGA if they need to withdraw from a competition via the withdraw webpage. If internet acces is not available then withdraw via phone. Failure to notify the KCGA is subject to a one-year suspension from KCGA events. If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00 on August 1, please call (913) 484-1844. This is a KCGA mobile phone. If you get the voice mail, please leave a message. Attire & ConductProper golf attire is required. blue jeans, designer jeans, tee shirts, and tank tops are prohibited. Shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length. The course is a spike-less facility. Any act of unsportsmanlike conduct, including the use of obscene or abusive language, may be cause for disqualification. AwardsThe champion and runner-up of each Division receives a symbolic trophy. In addition, the KCGA is providing a prize pool of $14,000 which will be distributed to each team who makes match play. Close of CompetitionThe competition shall be deemed to have closed when the symbolic prize for the event has been presented.
