Bill McLaughlin of Overland Park fired a 2-over par
74 to lead the Open Division at the StateLine Amateur Tour at The
Golf Club at Creekmoor.
Mark Ferris shot his best round on tour this year and finished in
second with a 77. Kris Casburn eagled the par 5 537 yard 5th
hole.
In the Senior Open Division six players tied for
first with 2-over par 74, they included; Steve Carlson, Don Kuehn, Tom Bachelor,
Ron Eilers, Mike Cutshall, and Tom Leonard.
Finishing first in the
Players Division gross scoring were Jeff Hanson of Olathe and David Kirschbaum
of Kansas City, both who shot
3-over par 75. Kim Eldred of Louisburg shot a season best 4-over par 76 and his net
score of 62 was low enough to win the net scoring crown by more 7
strokes over second place finisher Hanson. Like Casburn in the
Open Division, Rick Shingleton also eagled the hole which played at
500 yards.
Tim Clemons of Kansas City, Don
Cox of Lake Quivira, and Grant Renne of Prairie Village, all shot a 5-over par 77 to win the Legends
Division gross scoring. Dean Buford, a
Liberty native, won
his first event on tour by firing a 2-under par 70 to win the net
scoring. Second to Buford was Martin Story who followed up his
first place finish at Milburn Golf & Country Club with a 1-under par
71.
