Misenhelter and Houtz Co-Medalist at WAPL Qualifying
Gianna Misenhelter 16, of Overland Park and Emily
Houtz 18, of Manhattan both shot 80 to earn medalist honors at the
U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Qualifying. Misenhelter's and
Houtz's 9 over par was three shots better than their closest competitor
at the 6,032 yard Swope Memorial Golf Course. Swope Memorial, the
host of the national championship in 2005 was setup with the same
tee placements as in 2005 played very long due to the weekend rains.
Also qualifying was Sydney Cox of Chandler, OK. The 2008 Championship
will be held at Erin Hills Golf Course June 16-21 in Erin, Wisconsin.
